Placement opportunity
Volunteer trainee therapists
Brighton Therapy Centre is recruiting trainee volunteers to join our placement scheme from January 2026.
We are looking for trainee therapists to join BTC on placement. Trainees typically see 3 clients a week and receive fortnightly clinical supervision at BTC. We are currently looking for trainees who can see clients on Tuesday evenings or Thursday evenings.
A bit about us…
Brighton Therapy Centre is a growing mental health charity with the aim of making high-quality therapy and counselling accessible to all. We are committed to meeting the needs of underrepresented or difficult-to-reach groups who find it harder to access therapeutic services. We were founded in 2012, and in 2023 we opened our second location - Hastings Therapy Centre.
As a registered charity, we use any surplus generated from our mainstream work and fundraising activities to subsidise low-cost therapy for individuals who otherwise cannot afford the help they need. We are joined in this by our experienced team of practitioners, who commit 25% of their time to low-cost work.
BTC/HTC are mixed practices that welcome practitioners with a range of trainings and modalities, including psychodynamic, humanistic, and integrative approaches.

Note: we are committed to equality of opportunity and increasing access to the psychological professions. We therefore particularly encourage applicants who are underrepresented in the psychotherapeutic workforce, such as people from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic backgrounds.
