I am an integrative humanistic counsellor, completing my training in June of this year (2023). I have lived on the South Coast since 2008 both in Brighton and the surrounding areas.
I have a strong belief in the long-term benefits of counselling and therapy and have experienced my own, personal journey through counselling. I work with clients in a relaxed, non-judgemental and confidential environment and very much think of us the working together as a team.
I have experience in working with clients with many different issues and in many different areas including:
- Bereavement
- Personal Internal Conflict
- Adoption and Fostering
- Relationships
- Crisis in Families
- LGBTQ +
- Gender
As a Gay man growing up in the 1980’s and 90’s I am very aware of the sense of being different and not fitting in with society. This, and being an adoptee and adopter have driven my natural abilities of understanding, empathy and congruence and an understanding of what it is to be in a minority and feel isolated and different. It has also driven my continued interest in counselling both on a personal and professional level.
As a former senior manager in communications and project management I have an ability to listen carefully, reflect, check understanding and work collaboratively.
