Existential psychotherapy is an approach which considers how we live, how we relate to one another and what it means to be human, all of which are often a source of anxiety.
My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, feelings of self-hate, compulsive behaviours, difficulties arising from neurodiversity, grief, loss, bereavement, relationship breakdown, abuse, suicidal thoughts, and identity. Often clients feel that they are, in some way, at odds with the world, and feel troubled by this. I aim to provide a place where you are heard, and where together we can explore your experience, difficulties and feelings, a process which can help you to better understand yourself, to make meaning, and to find ways in which to live better.
I am passionate about providing access to therapy for trans and gender non-conforming folk, regardless of whether an exploration of gender is your reason for seeking therapy. I provide an LGBTQ+ safe space.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I had a long corporate career in a professional services firm, including experience of working in the City, and I understand first-hand the pressures that such a life often holds.
I am an accredited member of the UKCP and a registered member of the BACP, and adhere to their codes of ethics. I work with individual adults.
Summary of agreement
A written agreement will be provided before the first session by email and will be discussed during the first session.
Sessions cancelled with less than one week’s notice are charged, although I will do my best to offer an alternative session time in the same week to avoid a cancellation (or move the session to Zoom if in person attendance is not possible).
Regular attendance is required for therapy to be helpful. If you find that you are unable to attend regularly, I will discuss this with you so that we can agree a way forward.
Payment is made weekly by cash during the session or by bank transfer on the day of the session.
