Misgana Berhane

Humanistic Counsellor

I offer therapy that is based on the belief that all persons have within them resources to live as fully as they can.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am governed by their rules and ethical framework.

My experience over the 17 years includes, working for the NHS running CBT based workshops on anxiety and depression for adults; counselling young people (at YMCA) and working with Sexual assault and Rape (SARC).

Over the years I have specialised in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). This is a powerful therapy designed to help people recover from traumatic events in their lives. EMDR is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

I am also a clinical supervisor and qualified trainer.

Having lived and worked in different countries I am culturally sensitive when assessing how best to support you.
