I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working in both private practice, and the voluntary sector. I offer both long and short term counselling/psychotherapy to individuals. I am accredited by the NCPS (Prof.), as well as a Registered Member of the BACP (Accred).
Previously, I had my own practice in France where I was trained in Integrative Sophro-Analysis®. This is a mindfulness based psychotherapy that uses tools such as breathing, meditation and visualisation in the counselling/psychotherapeutic process.
I describe my approach as relational, body oriented integrative psychotherapy, meaning that I draw on a range of theoretical models, techniques, ideas and life experiences. For example, I work with both body and mind connections towards integrating the whole person, understanding how our earliest experiences can affect mind, body and feelings, and how these can create obstacles to growth. Therefore, if it’s right for you, I sometimes work with breathing, posture, and body awareness in order for you to connect with, express and release difficult feelings.
I am multi-cultural and multi-lingual and I have worked with adults and young people from varied international backgrounds. I believe these experiences are important as they allow open-mindedness and flexibility in my therapeutic approach.
